Communist Attack Answered

(Reed. Ip.m.) PARIS, Oct. 13. Mr Grantley Adams, a British delegate and a coloured resident of Barbados, told the United Nations Trusteeship and Colonial Committee that on behalf of the peoples of the British Colonial Empire he rejected categorically the motion that the “outlook for us is one of grim, relentless struggle for freedom against ouf reactionary colonial oppressors.”

He was replying to criticisms by the Russian, Ukrainian and Jugoslav delegates. “We don’t look upon the British Government as a ruthless exploiter or regard the ties that link us with the Crown as an intolerable yoke,” he declared. “We are convinced of Britain’s good faith and have no cause to be otherwise.”
