(Recd. 3.10 p.m.) CANBERRA, This Day.
Speaking at the rising of the House of Representatives today, the Primo Minister. Mr Chifley. repeated his earlier statement, that the documents quoted by the leader of the Country Party, Mr A. W. Fadden, in the House were either stolen or forged. He said the Government was asking Opposition members if the documents were stolen and, if so, how. There _ seemed io be some open doors by which members of .the Opposition or Communists were able to obtain confidential documents. Opposition members cried loudly about leakages but declined to render any assistance, Mr Chifley said. Mr Fadden has been asked by the director of security to give security officers an interview and to permit them to examine the documents.
