A Rumanian court has postponed indefinitely the trial of Alexander Evans, a British subject, on charges of having misused the . funds of Steaua Romana, a subsidiary ol the Anglo-Iranian Oil Company. In spite of British protests the court refused to grant Evans bail until Monday, when it fixed bail at £50,000. Evans’s lawyer today reported that bail had been reduced to £30,000. which Evans had found it impossible to guarantee. Britain, in a second Note of protest today, asked the Rumanian Foreign Minister (Mrs Anna Paukcr) to intervene in the case to prevent "a very serious miscarriage ol justice.’
