Record ‘Gate’ For Island Match
(P.A.) WELLINGTON, This Day. The takings at the NorthSouth Rugby match at Athletic Park, Wellington, on Saturday, totalled £3600, and constituted a record by £lOOO. The previous highest takings were £2594 at Wellington in 1939.
At Auckland in 1945, the gate was £2494.
In 1920, the year before the first Springbok visit, the gate at Wellington was £466.
