Mrs Margaret Osborne Dupont and Miss Louise Brough today won the national women’s doubles title for the seventh successive year by beating Miss Doris Hart and Mrs Patricia Canning Todd, 6-4, 9-10, 6-1. in the final. . " Mrs Hazell Wightman, donor ot the Wightman Cup for a women’s tennis competition between Britain and the United States, today won her fortieth title when, with Mrs Marion Jessup, she won the women’s veteran doubles championship by beating Miss Virginia Ellis and Miss Fieiffit Scharnian, 6-2, G-2. Tn the men's doubles final, Talbert and Mulloy beat Schroeder and Parker, 1-6, 9-7, 6-3, 3-6, 9-7. It was a victory lor unspectacular steadiness over patchy brilliance. Talbert and Mulloy won because of their fighting qualities. In the semi-finals, Mulloy and Talbert beat Tom Brown and Dorfman, 3-6, 9-7, 6-4, 13-H. and Parker and Schroeder beat Geoff Brown and Lollg‘, 15-13, 6-2, G-3.
