Sentence On Russian Wife Of Briton

LONDON, August 28. The Foreign Secretary (Mr Ernest Bovin) has sent a letter to Mr William Greenhalgh about the appeal which Mr Bevin instituted in Moscow against the sentence of two years’ imprisonment passed on August 2 on Mr Greenhalgh’s Russian wife for a registration irregularity. Mr Beyin said that he had regretfully decided that it would do no good to make further representations to Moscow at pi-esent. _ Mrs Greenhalgh is one of tne wives whom Russia refuses to allow to join their British husbands.
