Tyres to be Cheaper
The New Zealand Tyre Importers' Association announced in Wellington yesterday that notwithstanding the considerable value of stocks of tyres and tubes held and paid for, importers had decided, as a result of the restoration of the New Zealand pound to par with sterling, to give the public some immediate benefit through a reduction in prices With a few minor exceptions, the statement added, the reductions varied from 7i to 20 per cent. The reductions would come into effect from today.— (P.A.)
