Raiders In Kashmir No Nearer Objective

(Rec. 11.50 a.m.) NEW DELHI, August 24. A Government, of India military spokesman said that after 10 months' war in Kashmir the raiders, were no nearer their objective, which was Srinagar. The raiders were held near Chakothi, 60 miles west of Srinagar, at Tithwall. 70 miles north-west, at Gurias, 40 miles north, and at Zojila pass, 45 miles north-east. The raiders dominated the Muzaffarabad district in Kashmir province, the Poonch Jagir and the districts of Bhimber, Mimpur, Palendri and Bagh.
