Egypt is expected to accept Count Bernadotte’s request to place five United Nations observers on Egyptian territory to ensure the better observance of the Palestine truce, says Reuter’s Cairo correspondent. The Associated Press Jerusalem correspondent says that Mr Elia.hu Dobkin, a member Of the Jewish Agency executive, announced that 33,000 Jewish immigrants, half of them from Cyprus camps have arrived in Palestine since May. A communique issued in Cairo today announced the death “on the battlefield” of the Egyptian commando chief in Palestine, Lieutenant-Colonel Ahmed Aziz Bey., It gave no details.
