After leading 8-6 four minutes before time, Southland High School was beaten by Timaru High School by 12 points to 8 in the annual Rugby match yesterday at Invercargill. Both sets of forwards worked hard, but Timaru was able to keep up the pressure to the final whistle. Timaru led 6-5 at halftime, a try by R. Stewart and a penalty goal by T. Gallagher to a 'try by K. Ritchie, converted by A. Blanchard. Scores for Timaru in the second half were Galagher a penalty goal and R. Morrison a try. Ritchie scored a try for Southland. — (P.A.)
