Played as a trial match before the selection of the Canterbury representative team to meet South Auckland on. June 19, the game between Town and Country at Athletic Park, Christchurch, yesterday produced football of a high standard. Town won by 22 points to 12 after its capable forwards had made the pace throughout the first spell. Wairarapa Golf Title In the final of the Wairarapa open golf championship. J. P. Hornabrook (Faraparaumu) beat the title-holder, H.. S. Budd (Masterton), 2 and 1. Hornabrook played excellent golf. In the semi-finals, Hornabrook beat J. B. Crawford (Manor Park), 4 and 2, and Budd beat W. G. Horne (Wellington), 2 and i.—TP.A,)
