The Minister said he was unable to say whether changes 'in flying-boat types or meteorological and other data gathered over the years supported the suitability of Evans Bay as a base. In the past, he added, that location had been ruled out by experts. Jeffery’s Good Round 111 North Islaiul Coll* Final (P.A.) HAMILTON, This Day. Losing touch in the middle stages of the morning round, but finding his true form over the last few holes, James Jeffery put up a fine performance to be only 2 down to B. M. Silk at the completion of the first 18 of the 36-holes final of the North Island amateur golf championship today. The New Plymouth player (Jeffery) was 4 down coming to the thirteenth hole and to pick up two holes on the national amateur champion, who was playing steady golf, was a splendid effort. Jeffery finished the last three holes with two birdies and a bogey.
