OBITUARY Mrs Margaret Roach
A former West Coast resident, Mrs Margaret Roach, died at her home in Wellington yesterday morning. A members erf the Mears family, of Brunnerton, Mrs Roach had resided in Wellington for a number of years. She was aged 66 years. Besides her husband, one daughter and one son, she is survived by a brother, Mr M. Mears, of Greymouth. Mr Thomas Brook (P.A.) WELLINGTON, June 5. The death has occurred of Mr Thomas' Brook, a former ValuerGeneral of New Zealand, in _ his seventy-filth year. He is survived by his wife. Born at Evans Flat and educated at the Lawrence District High School. Mr Brook was senior survey examiner in 1897, and became inspecting surveyor at Gisborne in 1912. He became Commissioner cf Crown Lands for Westland in 1916, for Southland in 1919, and for Wellington in 1922. He was Valuer-General from 1925 to 1934.-
