ANNUAL MEETING OF MAKURA CROQUET CLUB

The annual meeting of the Makura Croquet Club was held recently, when the election of officers resulted as follows: —President, Mrs Lj. G. Mercer; vice-president, Mrs McCarthy; secretary, Mrs 11. Hooper; treasurer, Mrs M. Keating; club-captain, Mrs E. Warnes; committee, Mesdames, Pring, Prescott and Sandman. At the conclusion of the meeting, the trophies won during the past year were presented by Mrs E. Warnes as follows:—A. championship singles: Mrs L. G. Mercer, runner-up, Mrs McLauchlan. B championship singles, Mrs H. Prescott; runner up, Miss McKnight. Championship doubles, Mrs E. Warnes and Mrs J. Shannon. Shallcrass bowl, Mrs H. Hooper. Peace bowl. Mrs Ray senr; Handicap doubles, Mrs E. Warnes and Mrs D. Sandman. A grade yankee cup, Mrs L. G. Mercer. B grade yankee cup, Airs D. Sandman. Saturday competition, A grade, Mrs J. Shannon; B grade, Mrs ’M, Keating. Mrs Barker memorial trophy, Mrs G. Lambert. Personal Notes Miss Adamson, of Christchurch, is visiting Mrs C. Sweeney, of Runanga. Mrs W. Connor left today on a visit to Christchurch. Miss G. Saunders left today on a visit to Christchurch. Mrs M. Jacobson left today for Ashburton. , x Mrs R. Armstrong, Runanga, left today on a visit to Christchurch.
