RAILWAYMEN RESIGN FROM QUEENSLAND UNION OVER STRIKE
(Rec. 2 p.m.) BRISBANE, This Day. Many members of the Australian Railways Union have resigned and joined other unioils because they are dissatisfied with the handling of the recent Queensland strike. Virtually all 23,000 Queensland railwaymen reported for work yesterday and nearly 1400 watersiders answered the calls at Brisbane, but because overseas vessels had avoided Queensland during the strike no work was available for about 500 watersiders. <
