RED CROSS REPLY TO CRITICISM BY CANCER SOCIETY

(P.A.) WELLINGTON, This Day. The Red Cross Society had neither condemned nor endorsed the Braund cancer treatment by its part in arranging for the reception of a small boy going from Auckland to Sydney, said the president of the society, Captain M. S. Galloway, in reply to criticism by the British Empire Cancer Campaign Society. “We responded to the call of parents in distress—that is our duty,” he said. “The parents of the child were determined to send him and as they faced a problem in their arrangements the society did what it would do in any circumstances when people were in trouble—it lent a helping hand,” he said.
