FIRE DESTROYS ROTORUA PREMISES

(P.A.) ROTORUA, This Day. Fire swept through and almost totally destroyed the contents of a building occupied by Messrs E. Fowke and C. Tattersail as a billiards room and hairdresser respectively in Fenton street this morning. The building was owned by Mr S. J. Hale of Rotorua, and was insured, but the tenants were not covered by insurance. The fire had a good hold when the brigade was notified by a milk roundsman at 5.10 a.m. The outbreak is believed to have started in the billiards saloon.
