CANCER CURE CLAIM NOT SUBSTANTIATED
(Rec. 10 a.m.) SYDNEY, This Day. The committee set up by f the New South Wales Government has reported that Mr John Braund’s claims to cure cancer have not been substantiated. The committee unanimously adopted its medical sub-committee’s report, which gave details of six patients which the sub-committee examined. It said that on the evidence before it there was no proof that Mr Braund could cure cancer. Members believe that because of the world-wide public interest in Mr Braund’s claims the report should be made public as soon as possible and the committee decided that the report should go to the Premier, Mr McGirr, immediately. . A three-year-old boy suffering from a malignant rare form of cancer arrived yesterday by air from. Auckland to undergo treatment with Mr Braund. He is Roderick Nairn, son of Mr and Mrs R. S. Nairn, of Stratford, Taranaki. Mr Braund said he would examine Roderick today. Mr Nairn said the boy was in perfect health until eight months ago when an operation revealed he was suffering from a rare cancer called “Wilms.” .
