AUCKLAND RETAINS TOWERS SHIELD AT CHAMPIONSHIPS

(P.A.) AUCKLAND, March 14. Auckland retained the H. L. Towers Shield for the junior competition, and for the first time lost the Lumley Memorial Shield for the women’s competition, when the sixth national junioi- and women’s track and field championships were completed on Saturday. Heavy rain had deadened the ground.
