BEAU LE HAVRE TO LEAVE FOR SYDNEY TODAY

Beau le Havre was on the Trentham track yesterday doing light exercise. He shows no signs of lameness and is in good robust condition to stand the journey to Sydney. With Aggravation he leaves on the Wahine this afternoon.

Both these horses are trained at Stratford by J. G. Farrell who has had great success in the past couple of seasons. If they reproduce their New Zealand form in Austrialia it should be a successful trip for all concerned. Riders For Oamaru

The following riding arrangements have been made for the Oamaru meeting tomorrow:—J. S. Lundy, All’s Fair, Early Night; J. L. Stove. Gold Medallion, Lorna Leigh; R. G. Bradshaw, Authentic, Palomino; K. Hickey, Merry Lancer; R. W. Shaw, Flying Control, John Gay, Play High.

Smooth Style Bessie Grattan, which is engaged in the New Zealand Trotting Stakes, worked over a mile and a half at Addington yesterday with Palette in 3.47, the last half-mile in 1.10 2-5, the last two furlongs in 34 2-4. An attractive mare, Bessie Grattan has a smooth style of trotting.

Pardon Me In Form Pardon Me attracted attention to her prospects in the Stewards’ Handicap at Addington tomorrow by the bold manner in which she trotted when working yesterday morning. Driven by J. S. Shaw, Pardon Me followed Aerial Scott, Indian Triumph, Chinook, Acclamation, Bay Machine at the start of a twomile trial, but she gradually improved her position, finishing fast over the last two furlongs in 33sec to win by a head from Aerial Scott in 4.42, the last half-mile taking 1.7. Pardon Me is well forward and she should earn some of the prize money at the Easter meeting.
