A special stop-work meeting of the Lyttelton branch of the Waterside Workers’ Union to discuss the Auckland waterside dispute was held this morning. " - The meeting was attended by the national secretary (Mr T. Hill,' and vice-president (Mr A. Brennan), who outlined the Auckland dispute and the attitude of the Waterfront -Industry Commission towards • the union.

Mr Hill, in a statement after the meeting, said that the Lyttelton branch of the union had unanimously, endorsed the decision of the national’ executive, and given its full support to the Auckland branch and agreed to support whatever policies were decided upon by the national council at the meeting on March 22. “The seriousness of the position may be gathered from the fact that we have found it necessary to call the National Council together.’’ said Mr Hill. “The situation is clear.
