ATTLEE DECLINES SUGGESTION FOR EMPIRE MEETING
(Rec. 10.5 a.m.) LONDON, March 11. The Prime Minister, Mr Attlee, in the House of Commons' today, declined a suggestion that he should invite the Dominions’ Prime Ministers to meet to consider “the gravity of the European situation and our present economic and financial difficulties.” Mr Attlee .said- he recognised the value of such a meeting, but feared it would not be practicable at present. The Government was in close and constant touch with the Dominion Prime Ministers on these matters.
