11 Killed 90 Injured When Arabs Blow Up Jewish Agency Office

(Recd. 11.5 a.m.) , JERUSALEM, March 11. The casualties in an explosion which blew up the right wing of the heavily-guarded Jewish Agency headquarters building are now reported to total 1 1 killed and 90 injured. Jewish Agency reports says that an Arab attacker, using a car stolen earlier from the American Consulate, took a bomb into the Agency compound. One thousand armed Haganah men, wearing battle dress, cordoned the entire Jewish section of Jeiusalem as a result of the explosion.

The right wing of the building housed the offices of Vaad Leumi (Jewish Council) and the Jewish National Fund. Earlier reports said that part of the building caught fire. Screaming workers fell from the collapsing offices into the blazing wreckage. Some were buried.

The explosion shook buildings a mile away, and a great column of black smoke, then flames, leapt to the sky. An hour after the blast flames still licked through the gaping roof and the rescuers were still helping to carry out the injured. A Palestine Government statement said the car was checked through the agency gate. The occupants left two boxes in the hall-way. The explosin ccurred a few minutes later.
