Plastic Surgery Unit

A temporary plastic surgery unit has been established at Middlemore Hospital, Auckland, for the first time in the medical history of New Zealand. It is intended that the unit will be placed on a permanent basis in the future, involving the appointment of a full-time specialist and staff. The surgical work at present being undertaken by the unit is being performed by Dr H. P. Pickerill, of Wellington, and his wife. Dr Cecily Pickerill, who will make visits to the unit every month. About eight patients are at present undergoing, treatment at the unit.
