ATTACK IN KASHMIR

LONDON, December 15. Reuters correspondent in Karachi says that a Kashmir “Provisional” Government communique claims that the rebel forces, made a surprise attack on a strongly-defended position at Uri, which resulted in the killing of 400 Indian troops. The rebels gave their own casualties at Uri as 35 killed. i The . communique added that decorations called the Kashmir Crescent, the Poonch Star, and the Order, of Merit had been distributed to members of the rebel forces.
