Horsemen's Association
The following officers were elected at a meeting of the newly-formed New Zealand Trotting Horsemen’s Association: president, Mr G. B. Noble: vice-president, Mr J. S. Shaw; committee, Messrs V. Alborn, J. Bryce, jun., C. S. Donald, P. P. Gallagher, A. Holmes, M. Holmes, J. B. Pringle, R. Young; secretary, E. G. Mitchell. Some of the principal objects of the asociation are:—to protect and regulate by all lawful and legitimate means the occupation or calling of trotting horsemen in New Zealand; to secure by all such means the betterment of the conditions of engagement and employment, of trotting horsemen; to pTotect trotting horsemen against inconsiderate or unfair treatment; to take steps directed to the imorovement of the maintenance, care, treatment, training and racing of trotting horses.
