LIVERPOOL SEAMEN’S STRIKE APPEARS TO BE IMMINENT

(Rec. noon.) LONDON, Oct. 24. A number of the crew of the troopship Empress of Scotland refused to sign on for the ship’s sailing on October 27, thus indicating that Liverpool-seamen will carry out the threat to strike tomorrow. A National Union of Seamen official said the minority who failed to sign on could easily be replaced and ? the vessel would definitely sail on October 27.
