ENGLISH DOCTOR IS APPOINTED TO WESTLAND HOSPITAL

At a special meeting of the Westland Hospital Board last evening, it was decided'to appoint Dr G. F. Smart, M. 8., B.S. (Lond.), F.R.C.S. (Eng.), resident medical officer of the N.E. Suffolk and Ipswich Hospital, Ipswich, England, to the position of resident surgeon-superintendent of the Westland Hospital, subject to the consent of the Health Department. The board hopes to arrange a priority passage out for Dr Smart. Dr J. Horan was appointed house surgeon for the period of three months, for which he is available.
