PERSIA REJECTS OIL AGREEMENT WITH RUSSIANS

(Rec. 2 p.m.) TEHERAN, October 22. The Persian Parliament carried i resolution by 102 votes to two that Ghavam Sultaneh’s oil agreement with Russia is null and void. The declaration which the Majlis approved contained five points:-—

1. The Prime Minister, Gharvam Sultaneh, had good intentions .in signing the agreement, but the Majlis considered it null and void. 2. Persia should not grant oil concessions to foreigners or take foreigners as partners. ■ 3. The Persian Government should search for oil in northern Persia. 4. The Government, if oil is found, could discuss selling oil to the Russians. . 5. The Government would initiate discussions with the Anglo-Persian Oil Company to obtain greater profits for Persia.
