Wood Pulp From Sweden

As a shipment of wood pulp from Sweden has been several weelcs late in arriving, the New Zealand Paper Mills at Mataura will be closed between October 18 and October 27. So ,that there will not be any loss in production the staff will take a week of their annual holidays, starting from October 18. '■The manager of the mill (Mr D. M. Wilson) emphasised yesterday that there was no shortage of wood pulp at the mills. The company had plenty of wood pulp on the water and a good supply had been ordered. However, the Annam, which was due at Bluff on November 3, was several weeks behind schedule. She had been expected about six weeks ago, but was late in leaving the Baltic. There are reported to be 25,000 bales of wood pulp for the Mataura mills on the Annam.—(P.A.)
