VESSEL LIMPS BACK TO LYTTELTON
(P.A.) CHRISTCHURCH, This Day
Striking engine trouble a few miles outside Lyttelton heads on the way to the Chathams, a motor ship, the Port Waikato, was unable to carry on and returned to port this morning. The vessel limped back to the stream at Lyttelton under her own power. She remained in the stream for several hours until the tug Lyttelton went out and towed the vessel into the inner harbour.
