EAST-WEST CONFLICT IN GERMANY
(Recd. 10.45 a.m.) BERLIN, Oct. 12. The Allied Control Council for Germany has become so embroiled in an East-West conflict of views that it has virtually ceased to function as far as major issues are concerned. The United States Military governor, General Clay, in his monthly report states that the council made only two formal enactments during August and no important decisions have been announced since, though, General Clay adds, there are 71 different matters, some of which are very important, listed for the Control Council’s consideration.
