LATE NEWS Dark Arrow Has Third Win At Reefton

The Reefton Jockey Club’s spring meeting is being concluded today in perfect weather and there is a good attendance. The track is fast. Result: —

BLACKWATER HACK HANDICAP,

Also started: 6-6 Mercia’s Mystery, 8.6, 3-3 Scene 8.4, 4-4 Menari 7.10 car 8.1. Won by a neck, six lengths. Mercia’s Mystery was fourth. Time, 1.54 4-5.

Dark Arrow won his. fourth race in succession and his. third for the meeting when he prevailed in a close finish in the Blackwater Flack Handicap. The Nightly gelding has now won over £4OO in stakes for his Greymouth owner, Mr L. S. Robertson.

Dark Arrow jumped away well and was always in the leading division. He took the lead approaching the straight from Valmeer with Vulnerable putting in a strong run and Mercia’s Mystery the most prominent of-the others. Vulnerable and Dark Arrow had a desperate struggle over the last furlong and the hot favourite, Dark Arrow, prevailed by a neck. Valmeer tired into third place, . six lengths away,' and there was a similar gap to Mercia’s Mystery with Scene and Menari together last. Tota £919.
