HOCKEY WAIMAI DEFEATS WEST COAST FOR KENNEDY SHIELD

Playing in a match for the Kennedy Shield at Greymouth on Saturday, Waimai (Nelson) defeated West Coast by two goals to one. J. Stewart netted both goals for Waimai and P. Clarke scored for West Coast.

In a game in which neither side had an advantage, the West Coast women’s representative team drew wtih Wairnai, there being no score. Playing in the final games of the women’s competition on Saturday, Runanga defeated Cobden by' two goals to nil. G. Scott and E. Warwick were the scorers for Runanga. A draw was the result of the game between St Columba and Greymouth on Saturday. Neither team scored.
