OBITUARY Mrs Mabel Kendall
The death took place at Christchurch on Saturday afternoon after a lengthy illness of Mrs Mabel Kendall, of Christchurch. She was born at Greymouth 66 years ago and was the eldest daughter of the late Emily and Andrew Matheson, a former Mayor of Greymouth. Mrs Kendall was well known throughout New Zealand in musical circles and was an accomplished singer and musician. She is survived by her husband and one daughter, Miss Vivian Kendall, both of Christchurch, and two sisters, Mrs H. Melville and Miss Ruby Matheson, both of Greymouth.
The funeral of Mr Thomas Picken took place at the Karoro cemetery yesterday afternoon. The Rev. A. R. Miller conducted the services at the residence and at the graveside. A special R.S.A. service was conducted at the graveside by the Rev. T. G. Campbell.
