REEFTON FILM PROJECTOR FOR SCHOOL ARRIVES
(0.C.) REEFTON, This Day. The 16mm film projector for the Reefton High School, which has been on order for some time, has arrived, and was this week given a trial run in the school assembly hall, where the machine is to be permanently installed.
Of American make and standard school design, the new machine is to be paid for out of funds subscribed by the High School Committee, the Adult Education Circle, the County Council, the School of Mines and other Inangahua district bodies. The plant will be used by local organisations who can procure suitablefilm, and a small charge for its hire will be made. All members of the Reefton High School staff are to be instructed ip' the use of the new machine. Some alterations have already been made to the school assembly hall to house the new plant, but there are other details yet to be completed before the final adjustments can be made to the projector. New seating accommodation has been installed in the hall, and the full school attendance can be seated in the hall for a screening. . ?
Completion of the installation has been held up by material shortages—timber for the projector box and suitable material to black out the hall for daylight showings. ■ It is expected that an official ceremony in connection with the installation of the new plant will be held early'next month.
