BANK OFFICER FOUND SHOT IN THE HEAD
(P.A.) WHANGAREI, This Day. A bank officer was found shot in the head in the Bank of New Zealand, Whangarei, this morning. He is James Louden Fleming, aged 41, of Whangarei. His condition is serious. Fleming was found at about 8 a.m. with a bullet wound in the head and a revolver beside him. He was lying m the living quarters of the bank. After he had been given medical attention he was taken to the Whangarei Hospital where it was' found that the bullet had entered the right temple region and was deeply embedded in the skull.
The weapon found beside Fleming was a .44 calibre . revolver of the type issued to bank officers for the protection of bank property. The bank regulations require that officers shall give the revolvers regular attention.
