LATE NEWS HEAVY LOSSES CONTINUE ON LONDON MARKET

(Rec 3 p.m.) LONDON, Sept. 3. There was a fresh bout of marking down prices throughout the Stock Exchange this morning, bm British funds showed comparatively few changes, none of which were more than 30d downward, says s financial correspondent Oil sfaies were severely whittled. Industrials again recorded heavy losses. Mining shares generally drifted lower,though South African gold shares showed some resistance. The inability of dealers to absorb the offered shares, rather than heavy liquidations, is the cause of the falls in prices. Dealers’ funds have been decreased by the taxation load and they have consequently been compelled to take drastice, measures to hold off sellers.
