.. Associated Gold Dredges.—For the week ending August 30 the company s dredges recovered 107 oz from 67,477 yards in 260 dredging hours. Turnbull And Jones. —At a meeting of the directors of Turnbull and Jones Ltd., it was resolved to make a first call of 5s a share upon members of the company registered on September 9, 1947, in respect of amounts unpaid on their shares. —(P.A.) Macduffs, Ltd.—The following dividends have been declared by Macduffs, Ltd., and will be paid to all shaerholders on September 24:—(1) an interim dividend of 3 per cent., less social security charge on preference share capital; (2) an interim dividend of 4 per cent, on ordinary shares. The capital transfer books will be closed from September 17 to September 24 inclusive. —(P.A.) Austral-N.Z. M ining.—Advice from Cromwell states that for the period ended August 30, Austral-N.Z. Mining operated for 210 hours, treating 129,000 yards for 137 ounces of bullion. Slab Hut Creek.—The return from this dredge for the two weeks ended

August 300, was 27 ounces from 26,000 yards in 184 hours. Gold Mines of N.Z.—Following are the dredge returns for August:— Arahura ran 531 hours and treated 227,000 cubic yards for a return of 1457 ozs. Kanieri ran 545 hours and treated 306,000 cubic yards for a return of 483 ozs.
