CUSTOMS RETURNS FOR GREYMOUTH SHOW DECREASE
A decline of about £lOOO in the amounts collected this month as compared with the receipts for August of last year, is shown in the August customs returns for Greymouth. Collections decreased under all headings with the exception of gold and petrel, where there were appreciable advances, amounting, in the case of gold duty, to over £lOOO. Details of collections under various sections, with figures for last August provided for comparative purposes, are as follows:—
