GREY AIRFIELD TO BE USED FOR ANOTHER MONTH
Greymouth will remain a stopping place on the route of the West Coast air service for at least another month, according to official advice received today by Nancarrow and Co. The service of Air Travel (N.Z.) Ltd. was to be transferred to the New Zealand National Airways Corporation at the end of this month, but the change-over has been delayed for a further month, according to the official advice. It -was felt in some quarters that the use of the Greymouth aerodrome might be suspended after tomorrow, this being the original intention of the Civil Aviation Department, but the authorities have agreed to allow service planes to call at Greymouth each day for another month. When the service is taken over by the Government on October 1, however, the use of the Greymouth aerodrome will be suspended until the field has been Extended.
