The Right Rev. Dr. P. W. Stephenson, Bishop of Nelson, is visiting the West Coast.

The appointment of Mr Philip Stanley Foster, of Christchurch, and Sir Charles Ernest Hercus, of Dunedin, to be members of the Medical Council was announced in .the Gazette last evening. Mr F. J. Ford has been appointed by the Bishop of Nelson as stipendiary lay reader assistant to the vicar of Greymouth (the Rev. K. G. Aubrey). Mi - Ford will arrive from Nelson this evening. The appointment for three years of the following members of the Board of Health was notified in the Gazette last evening:—Dr Muriel Emma Bell, Mr William George Belton, Sir James Sands Elliott, and Sir Charles Ernest Hercus.

The following producers’ representatives on the New Zealand Meat Producers’ Board were elected this morning: Messrs G. H. Grigg (Hororata), F. C. Johnstone (Waitetuna), and W. W. Mulholland (Darfield). — (P-A.) _____
