The rebels were bolstering their .northern attack with a major assault on the south-eastern workers’ district and a water-borne foray in the southern sector., The Argentine authorities have prohibited some of the 18,000 refugees at Clorinda,..across the Paraguay river from Asuncion, from returning to Paraguayan territory to help the rebels to capture Asuncion. Paraguayan rebel sources reported yesterday the capture of President Higinio Morinigo’s residence at Asuncion. The rebels had also seized the mounted police headquarters.
