CANADA TO CHOOSE WOMEN MIGRANTS FROM GERMANY
(Rec. 9.40 a.m.) OTTAWA, August 10. Six women, representing the Departments of Labour and Immigration, will leave for Europe today to select 1000 women from displaced persons in camps in Germany as migrants to Canada. These immigrants will ease the acute shortage of domestics in hospitals and .other establishments. If the plan is satisfactory, further immigration of women from the camps will be arranged to meet domestic requirements. Generally, the move is part of the Government programme, whicji was announced on July 11, for bringing 10,000 displaced persons to Canada.
