The following weather forecast was issued by the Meteorological Office, Wellington, at noon today:— Situation: An anti-cyclone is in the north Tasman Sea; a weak cold front is moving north-eastwards over the South Island. Forecast to 5 p.m. tomorrow: Moderate variable winds; weather cloudy with occasional showers, chiefly about and south of Greymouth; temperatures cold. Further outlook: Occasional showers; LOCAL RECORDINGS The following meteorological recordings were taken at Greymouth at 9 o’clock this morning:— Barometer 30.18 (1022 mils). Maximum temp, past 24 hours 51.3 Minimum temperature 34.3 Minimum grass temperature ... 27.3 Wind East light breeze. Sky Overcast. Bar Considerable swell. River Normal. Rainfall yesterday nil. Rainfall to date this year .. 41.34 in. Sunshine yesterday 9.2 hrs. Sunshine since April 1 J 504 hrs. The depth, on the bar at high water I yesterday. was -2 6ft.
