The., quarter-final of the Fou Horseman Cup match resulted:Hardie beat McKay, 2 up; Murdoci , beat O’Donnell, 1 up; Mardon beat J Smith, 3 and 2; Francis beat L. Phil, lips, 3 and 2. Results of the quarter-final of th; Orkney Cup match were:—Caultor beat Brooks, 3 and 1; Lindley bea Fogarty, 1 up at the nineteenth; Sansom beat Lancaster, .1 up; Hill bea A. K. Smith, 6 and 4. A bogey match was played yester day. Results:—H. C. Hill, 2 up; T Cameron, 1 down; R. Francis, 2 down A. L. McKay and H. A. Ray, 3 down S. Gaylor and B. W. Caulton, 4 down H. C. Hill, playing on a three handicap, returned a score of 74 gross, one under the par of tlv course. The card was the best care returned this season. Women’s Matches The C division flag match for Mr.W. Steele’s trophy, played yesterday was won by Mrs Boniface. A bisque bogey .will be played or Wednesday, the draw being as follows:—Mrs W. G. McKay and Miv Lambert; Mrs Murdoch and Mr? Batty; Mrs Wilkins and Mrs A. L McKay; Mrs Hooper and Mrs Alexander; Mrs Robertson and Mrs J. C Smith; Miss Robertson and Mrs Patton; Mrs Jones and Mrs McKane: Miss Moore ajid Mrs Heaphy; Mrs Chivers and Mrs Chibnail; Mrs Brayshay and Mrs Bluett; Mrs Logan, and Mrs Boustridge; Mrs Ellis and Mrs Meldrum.
MATCHES PLAYED AT IKAMATUA Matches played on the Ikamatua Golf Club’s links during the weekend, resulted as follows:—■ D.C.L. Cup matches: A. Nolan defeated J. Devereux 3 and 1; J. Fitzgerald defeated J. D. O’Malley 3 and 2; G. August defeated O. H. Purvis by default. J. Fitzgerald was the winner of Medal Round with a nett score of 71. A. Nolan’and D. Mcßae (holders) defeated W. Blackie and J. O’Malley (challengers) 1 up, in a buttons match. In a women’s buttons match, Mrs Gardyne retained the button, she and Mrs O’Malley finishing all square. The Captain v Vice-Captains match which was postponed, will be played on -Saturday. Players to arrange their own partners. The first qualifying round of the championships was played, on Saturday and the second round will be played on July 19.
