MAN FOUND DEAD IN DRAIN AT HOKITIKA

(0.C.) HOKITIKA, This Day. Mr Fraser Forbes, aged 71, was found dead in an open drain in Tancred street, Hokitika, yesterday morning. A post-mortem examination was made and an inquest was held today. . , Mr Forbes was born at Winton, and had lived on the West Coast tor the past 12 years, mainly in the Westland district. He worked in the sawmilling industry for some time and for the past four years had been employed oy the Westland County Council at Koiterangi. He served in the First World War with the N.Z.E.F. He is survived by his wife, who lives at Invercargill, a sister, Mrs M. Varcoe (Invercargill) ,x four sons, Fraser (Rapahoe), Stuart (Invercargill), Roy (Melbourne) and Alex (Kokatahi), and two daughters in Invercargill. The funeral will take place at the Hokitika Cemetery tomorrow afternoon.
