WEDDING DATE LIKELY TO BE IN OCTOBER

(Rec. 12.50 p.m.) LONDON, July 10. Informed quarters believe that the .wedding of Princess Elizabeth,.will be.in October. It is unlikely to be in later months because bad weather, would probably detract from the pageantry of the occasion. His Majesty will call a meeting of the Privy Council in the last- week in July ,to approve the betrothal by Order-in-Cquncil.. Until then the betrothal has no official status. . The Daily ' Telegraph says that speculation on the possibility of the wedding leading to a change of name of the dynasty ended with an authoritative statement that Princess Elizabeth will remain a member of the House of Windsor. Any descendants will naturally take the same name. ■

A Board, of Trade official told , the Daily Telegraph that Princess Elizabeth for her. wedding would have, a special allowance of clothing coupons. This was a great occasion and would be treated as such.

The Daily Telegraph adds that the dress, which will.be of historical in--1 erest, will be specially woveji with symbolic designs such as the Tudor rose. The Royal Family’s collection, would probably provide ■ heirloom lace.
