GERMAN POLICEMEN SENTENCED FOR THEFT OF SUPPLIES

(Rec. 11 a.m.) HAMBURG, May 2. The British Control Commission Court at Luneberg sentenced 23 German auxiliary policemen to imprisonment, ranging from six months to three years, for stealing £4OOO of N.A.A.F.I. groceries and cigarettes. The prosecutor said the defendants, who were from East Prussia, were arrogant. They regarded sabotage of this kind as laudable and British supply depots as fair game.
