SOVIET DEMAND ON DISPLACED PERSONS IN AUSTRIA
(Rec. 2 p.m.) MOSCOW, April 17. Britain, the United States and France have refused to accept the Soviet demand at the Foreign Ministers’ Conference that displaced persons in Austria should be expelled six months after the Austrian tieaty became effective. General Marshall urged that the handling of displaced persons should be in accordance with the United Nations General Assembly resolution last autumn. . Mr Vyshinsky said that the Soviet did not agree to the resolution, which in any case was supposed to apply to Germany and not to Austria. . .- ~ General Marshall said: “This is the use of the veto on the United Nations Assembly decision.” Mr. Vyshinsky denied that the veto was involved.
